The game runs at dynamic 4K with 30 frames-per-second (FPS) on the Xbox One X, and holds that target pretty well over all. My only other regret is that there's not much of a reason to explore the game's detailed world, since the story pushes you in a very specific direction throughout. If you're sitting far from the TV you probably won't catch it, but once you notice, it's hard to ignore. It seems to kick in when the game is struggling, performance-wise, along with dynamic resolution scaling. The only issue I really had with the visuals on the Xbox One X was the odd shimmering technique they use for anti-aliasing in some scenes. We learn here that the entire Salieri family mafia went to prison, including Tommy, who spent 8 years in jail by himself. At a table later in the wedding, Tommy talks about how family is a man's greatest weakness and he explains that everything he's done, both good and bad, was done for his family. The epilogue begins with Tommy walking his daughter down the aisle at her wedding. ![]() Mafia: Definitive Edition Epilogue Explained Tommy says it has to be that way and the game's epilogue begins. Norman tells Tommy that it's just a matter of Tommy helping Norman put Salieri behind bars and Norman helping Tommy stay safe while doing it. Tommy says he'll do it but only if his family is guaranteed new identities and safety. He'll explain that he can't help Tommy unless Tommy testifies in court, which means staring down Salieri, Ralphie, Vinnie, and everyone else you worked with throughout the duration of the game, in court. Tommy fires two more bullets for good measure and tosses the gun aside, leaving Sam's body to be found by whomever.įollowing the conclusion of the game's final mission, you'll be back in the diner with Detective Norman. This is probably because Sam killed Paulie earlier in this mission. Sam begins to talk of memories of the trio - Sam, Tommy, and Paulie - at Tommy fires the first shot at the first mention of Paulie. ![]() After being spotted by a friend of the family, the Don sent out a crew to take Frank and his family out.Īfter hearing that, Tommy cocks his gun and points it at Sam, who tells him that he doesn't believe he has it in him to pull the trigger. He then reveals that Frank, who Tommy let "disappear" a few missions back, was found hiding out in Europe. He tells Tommy that he'll tell the Don that he's dead so that he can disappear. You'll find Sam asking Tommy to let him live. He goes down the same as any other enemy so after a few bullets, he'll go down and a cutscene will begin.
